Families and Yo Gabba Gabba! Fans Invited to Celebrate Memorex’s 50th Birthday with a Video Contest

OAKDALE, Minn. (July 11, 2011) – Turn on the tunes of Yo Gabba Gabba!, capture your child’s favorite moves on video, and your family could win a chance to dance with the cast of characters from the hit TV show. Yo Gabba Gabba!, created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz and produced by The Magic Store and W!LDBRAIN Entertainment, has partnered with Memorex to celebrate the brand’s 50th birthday with a fun, family-friendly video contest.

 

Memorex Presents the Yo Gabba Gabba! Dancey Dance Video Contest

The winner of the Dancey Dance Video Contest – selected by online voters – will be featured in Memorex’s Yo Gabba Gabba! It’s Time to Dance! Birthday Party, which will be broadcast live across the nation on UStream in September. Runners-up can also celebrate with prizes including their very own Memorex Party Kit, complete with the Yo Gabba Gabba! Birthday Boogie! video and the Memorex PartyCube™ Sound System.

Starting July 11, 2011, you can enter the Dancey Dance Video Contest for the chance to win prizes, including a grand prize of a trip for four to Los Angeles to meet the cast of characters from Yo Gabba Gabba!

 

HOW TO ENTER
The Submission Period for the Contest runs July 11 – July 31, 2011. To enter, capture a 30-second video of your child or family dancing to any Yo Gabba Gabba! song and upload your video to Memorex’s Facebook Fan Page (www.facebook.com/memorexfans) or Yo Gabba Gabba!’s Facebook Fan Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Yo-Gabba-Gabba/42220833615). Facebook visitors can express their preference for a video by clicking on the thumbs up “like” button, but no actual voting will take place during the submission period.

From Aug. 1-7, 2011, videos will be reviewed by a panel of judges and 20 finalists will be selected based on the number of video preferences (20%), quality of video (20%), child excitement (30%) and cuteness of dance (30%). Finalists will be notified on Aug. 7. 

 

HOW TO WIN
Votes for the 20 finalist videos may be cast Aug. 8-21, 2011 at the Memorex’s Facebook Fan Page and Yo Gabba Gabba!’s Facebook Fan Page.  

The video with the most votes on Aug. 21, 2011 will be selected as the grand prize winner. The grand prize winner will receive an expenses-paid trip for four to Los Angeles, where they’ll see a sneak preview of the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!: It’s Time to Dance! Tour and will meet the Yo Gabba Gabba! Cast of characters (Approximate Retail Value [ARV]: $4,849.99)

The four videos with the next most votes will be selected as the second place winners. These four lucky families will receive an It’s Time to Dance! Birthday Party Kit, featuring a PartyCube Sound System, Yo Gabba Gabba! CD and DVD, and supplies for a Yo Gabba Gabba! birthday bash (ARV: $195.98).

The five videos with the next most votes will be selected as the third place winners. Each of the five third prize winners will receive a Memorex PartyCube Sound System (ARV $99.99).
